Are You Ready to Take Your Cycling to the Next Level?

Do you have goals to improve your biking skills and endurance? Are you aiming to set a personal best for your longest ride? Perhaps you’re looking to connect with like-minded cyclists who share your passion. Or maybe you just want the support of structured weekly rides throughout the summer.

Welcome to the Bluff City Training Team!

Our team is here to elevate your cycling experience, help you build endurance, hone your skills, and find joy in the journey. Whether you're looking to gain confidence riding in a group, conquer a 62-mile ride (100 kilometers), or push yourself to reach the coveted 100-mile mark, we’re here to help you succeed.

Since 2011, we’ve trained over 600 riders for long-distance rides of up to 100 miles. As we enter our 14th year, we’re excited to continue fueling riders’ passion, dedication, and confidence in cycling—all while fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment.


What You Can Expect from the Bluff City Training Team

  • Weekly Rides to Build Endurance
    Our rides are held on Saturdays, with 19 rides scheduled between April and October. Rides begin at 20 miles and progressively increase in distance, tailored to help you achieve your personal goals. Rides will have both a C pace (max 18 mph on flat terrain) and D pace (max 16 mph on flat terrain) group. If you’re new to group riding or unsure of your pace, our first ride will help assess your starting level.

  • Comprehensive Support and Resources
    As a Training Team member, you’ll gain access to seminars on bike maintenance, cycling basics, hydration, nutrition, stretching, and more. These resources are designed to improve your skills, enhance your performance, and help you stay safe on the road.

  • SAG-Supported Rides
    Each training ride includes Support and Gear (SAG) stops, ensuring you stay fueled and motivated. As a volunteer-led team, each rider will have an opportunity to work a SAG stop during the season, with all required resources provided to you.

  • Social Events and Bonus Rides
    Beyond weekly training, we organize additional rides and social events to keep you engaged and connected with fellow team members throughout the year.

  • Partnership with Local Rides
    On eight Saturdays, we’ll join rides hosted by Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club (MHBC) or other local organizations, offering a chance to explore new routes and expand your cycling network. These rides are optional and the fee for these rides is not included with training team registration.
