Big thanks to Niel et al for letting me tag along for the early miles yesterday. My second "century" (burned out at 97 miles). Made for a great day of riding.

Tomorrow, if you dare, is the day for the first July century. Yes, we will ROLL OUT at 5:30 AM! Guarantee that everyone will appreciate the coolness at this time of day, if not the early-ness. We will meet at Hope Church, somewhere in the parking lot. (Just look around, there can't be too many people there on a Saturday morning at the crack of dawn) Yipee!

Here's a plan for the extra miles prior to RWB. I mapped out a 28 mile route that starts at Hope church. It goes through the Greenway (with the new section) and the Greenline (very clear and empty at this hour of the morning), and then back on Shady Grove/Wolf River. The RWB starts at 7:30, so we should probably head out at (gasp!) 5:30 (so we'll have time to register and such). What do y'all think? The store at Herb Parsons should be open if the SAG is not set up.

It is going to be dangerously hot on Saturday! The combination of temp and humidity is going to make dehydration a real possibility for the RWB participants.
I am planning to start the 68 mile route at 5:30. I know the store at Herb will be open, but since I will pass the other sags before they are open, I am wondering if there are any other stores along the route. Any ideas?
Barry

If all goes according to plan, I will get my July ride in when in Michigan the first week of July. Typical day time temps are in the 70's to low 80's - much better than last Saturday, which about did me in!

It's really kind of hot for a century in July. How about a night century on the Natchez Trace? That would allow the century to be completed during cooler hours. We'd have to work out the details, but I would be willing to SAG.
Anybody interested?
