Memphis Hightailers Launch Inaugural Member Drive to Expand Local Cycling Community

Tulio J Bertorini | Published on 3/27/2026

MEMPHIS, TN — The Memphis Hightailers Bicycle Club (MHBC) is officially kicking off its first-ever Spring Member Drive, a two-month campaign designed to grow the region's cycling network and reward its most dedicated ambassadors. Running from April 1 through May 31, 2026, the drive offers current members the chance to win exclusive club gear and event registrations by referring new riders to the group.

The initiative comes as the club prepares for a full season of road, gravel, and social rides across the Mid-South. New members who join during this window receive a full year of benefits, including access to over 30 weekly rides, educational clinics, and discounts at local bike shop sponsors.

“Our vision is an inclusive community where people of all backgrounds can cycle for health and fun,” said the club's leadership. “The Member Drive is about bringing neighborhoods together and ensuring every rider—from beginner to expert—has a welcoming group to roll with.”

Prizes for Top Referrers

The drive features a tiered reward system for members who bring in the most new sign-ups:

  • Grand Prize: A custom Hightailers bike jersey, a free 2027 membership renewal, and a complimentary registration for the signature Bluff City Blues (BCB) Ride scheduled for October 17, 2026.
  • Second Prize: A custom Hightailers bike jersey.
  • Third Prize: A free 2027 membership renewal.
  • New Member Bonus: Every new member who joins during the drive is entered into a drawing for a free 2027 renewal.

To qualify, new members must sign up for a Individual or Family annual membership ($55 or $95 respectively) and list their referrer’s name or member number during registration.
