Big-Time Road Racing Returns: State Games of Tennessee Cycling to Hit Jackson Streets May 30

JACKSON, TN — The "Rockabilly City" is getting the band back together this summer as competitive road racing makes a high-speed return to West Tennessee. Organizers have officially announced that the State Games of Tennessee Road Race will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, bringing elite cycling back to the iconic streets of Jackson.

The Return of the Rockabilly Loop

In a move that will thrill regional cyclists, the event will utilize the celebrated Rockabilly Gran Prix road race loop. Known for its challenging terrain and "Tour-de-France-style" atmosphere, the course has historically hosted hundreds of racers vying for glory in the heart of Madison County.

The 2026 edition is being brought to the community through a partnership between the Marx-Bensdorf/BPC Cycling Team and the State Games of Tennessee.

Race Details and Sanctioning

Athletes can expect a professional environment, as the race will be USACycling sanctioned. Competition will be divided into common categories to accommodate various skill levels and ages. While the event is open to out-of-state riders, the stakes are particularly high for locals: State Games medals will be awarded to Tennessee residents who finish in the top three of their respective races.

Part of a Larger Summer of Sport

The cycling road race serves as a marquee kickoff for the broader State Games of Tennessee schedule, which features 16 sports across three weekends in May and June. Jackson officials anticipate over 2,500 athletes will visit the city this year, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
